About the Film

Cora Dale - A Rediscovered History

The early 20th century saw Goshen, Indiana, boast one of its most brilliant musical talents: Cora Dale, an accomplished composer and pianist with a flourishing career and a bright future. Yet, the pervasive stigma of mental illness almost erased her extraordinary story from history. Her life, tragically interrupted by a failing mental healthcare system, seemed destined for obscurity. That was until, eighty years later, a remarkable discovery brought Cora's incredible life to light. This revelation not only resurrected her memory but also inspired the re-naming of Goshen’s Clubhouse, in her honor. This film will explore Cora's luminous career, the heart-wrenching challenges she faced, and how her legacy now champions mental wellness in the very house where her music once soared.

Goshen College's Communication Department presents this documentary produced by it's own FiveCore Media.
