Documentary “Deep Dive” chosen as official selection in two international film festivals

Deep Dive,” a 25 minute documentary produced by Goshen College film students, was chosen to be not only a 2019 River Bend Film Festival official selection, but a International Christian Film & Music Festival official selection as well.

The short documentary will be shown on Saturday, May 4, at 4:30 p.m. at the Goshen Theater as a part of the River Bend Film Festival, and a screening will take place over the same weekend in Orlando, Florida as a part of the International Christian Film & Music Festival.

The documentary tells the story of Goshen College’s J. N. Roth Marine Biology Station in Layton, Florida. For over 50 years, hundreds of GC students have traveled to the small Florida Keys community to learn about marine biology through GC’s BIOL 304 May-term course.

The film was produced by several students enrolled in GC’s film production program. Nine other students helped with editing in their advanced post-production course, while FiveCore Media students wrapped up the project.

The River Bend Film Festival is a annual celebration of independent filmmaking, located in Goshen, Indiana. For the past 15 years, the RBFF has screened hundreds of independent films within a variety of genres. Visit https://riverbendfilmfest.com/ to purchase tickets.

The International Christian Film & Music Festival is a collection of the best films/music/television shows in the world. This year the event will take place in Orlando, Florida. Visit http://www.internationalcff.org/ to purchase tickets.
