To be recognized on both regional and national platforms for high-quality video work is extremely rewarding and beneficial for the students who work at FiveCore Media. Students receive invaluable experience when working on projects such as the Good of Goshen campaign.

“We’re pushing our students to not just see themselves as students, but as professionals, rather than waiting until they graduate to enter the profession,” said Kyle Hufford, assistant professor of communication and FiveCore Media general manager. “These are opportunities that not many students get.”

The whole campaign is the collaborative effort of four partner organizations: Goshen Community Schools, Goshen College, the Goshen Chamber of Commerce and the City of Goshen. “Producing videos for the Good of Goshen campaign has been such a rewarding experience and it’s an honor to have received these awards for our work,” said Taylor Stansberry, Assistant Producer at FiveCore Media. “The best part of working on the campaign was to really get out into the community and discover all the people and places that are contributing and doing wonderfully amazing things in Goshen.”

FiveCore Media earned a bronze Telly Award, which is the second highest honor behind a silver Telly. The Telly Awards is a national competition designed to distinguish commercials, video, film productions and work created for the web from professional advertising companies. The Telly Awards receive approximately 13,000 submissions nationwide each year.

FiveCore Media also received a bronze Addy Award for Digital Advertising Campaign from the American Advertising Federation (AAF) of Michiana. The award was presented at the annual AAF Michiana chapter awards ceremony on Thursday, Feb. 26 at the Morris Performing Arts Center in South Bend.

The Addy Awards is the advertising industry’s largest and most representative competition, attracting more than 40,000 entries every year in local AAF Club competitions. The mission of the competition is to recognize and reward the creative spirit of excellence in the art of advertising.

“Being able to put awards like these on a professional resume and portfolio gives our students an edge over their peers when they apply for jobs,” Hufford said.

The success of the campaign has been a collective achievement accomplished by a whole creative team. FiveCore Media produced twenty total videos for the campaign while working closely with Kendall Pictures and EyeDart Creative Studios.
