FiveCore Media works with TaigMarks, Inc. to produce television commercials for new GC program

FiveCore Media recently had a great opportunity to produce four TV commercials for Goshen College’s new Professional Degrees program. The Adult Education Department hired TaigMarks, Inc. to market the new program with the agreement that FiveCore Media would produce the videos needed, but TaigMarks would conceptualize and write the scripts.

TaigMarks provided us with great scripts, graphics, and storyboards for the commercials while we handled the production and post-production. We produced voice overs, shot footage, animated graphics, and composited the commercials. As the videos were a part of a campaign, there was little variance in the footage we needed to get so we spent only two evenings shooting in adult education classes.

The commercials are only 30 seconds long, but it’s projects like these that I am reminded just how much work goes into every second of video. Naturally this project came as our student staff was gearing up for finals. The guys worked hard, however, putting in additional hours, even over the weekend, to help FiveCore finish all four commercials in just two and a half weeks! We worked hard to finish the videos quickly because the new program begins in January and we needed to get the commercials out and running as soon as we could without sacrificing quality.

We usually write our own videos, so collaborating with another company was a new experience for most of our staff. But while it came with challenges, collaborating with another company was not much different than working with a client. The project also gave FiveCore a great opportunity to develop a working relationship with TaigMarks, one of the largest marketing firms in Elkhart, and to network with professionals within our community. Hopefully we will have more chances to collaborate with TaigMarks now that FiveCore is on their radar. The Professional Degrees program was a high pressure but high reward project and it was exciting so see how well the entire FiveCore staff works under the pressure of a strict deadline.
